Redline. A term coined from pushing a car to it's breaking point, where the tachometer strains all the way over to the red in an effort to warn it's careless driver: TOO FAST! But speed is something we covet with our rigs, and Mushkin has aptly named it's new high performance RAM for that breaking point we so desperately try to exceed. But the big question is how well does this kit push it to the limit? Will the Redline series be fit for the Autobahn of the overclocking arena, or is back to puttering down Main Street for Mushkin? Mushkin is a name not oft mentioned in the realm of enthusiast memory, more often then not it's the big name brands like Corsair and OCZ that catch all the attention of sites and media. However, this means we simply cannot rule them out on that basis, far from it. Mushkin's extreme performance lines have been excellent bang for the buck, as evident back in our previous looks at two of their 2GB kits in March and November; the latter even receiving our coveted Editor's Choice award.
The Redline moniker is dubbed to Mushkin's line of high-end choice memory, a fitting title given the extreme performance we can expect to milk from these puppies. We're pretty sure Redline is the name of one of those sporty energy drinks as well, and when you can compare yourself to heavily caffeinated goodness it makes the deal all the more sweet (high fructose sweet, baby!).
