While most will say "duh", some will say "huh".....this article is for that latter group. Before you think you need to drop $750-2000 on a new notebook, check out these quick and easy tips to extend the life of your current notebook.

Before beginning any project like this, do your homework. Make sure you know the components used in yourt notebook, make sure you have the tools you'll need to perform the upgrades, and make sure you understand that performing any or all of these upgrades may in fact void your warranty.

For the purpose of this guide, I'll be using my trusty ASUS G1 notebook. The ASUS G1 is a relatively current notebook (Purchased about 8 months ago), that has little trouble with anything I do in my day to day life (Word processing, Photoshop, Web Browsing, Editing video, etc).
