Earlier this summer, we reviewed Seagate's BlackArmor NAS 440 and were impressed with its enormous capacity as well as its advanced features. Admittedly, the NAS 440 offers a lot more features and storage than average users might need. Also, its price point puts it out of reach for consumers looking to upgrade their backup solution without breaking the bank. That's where the BlackArmor NAS 220 steps into the picture. With 2TB storage capacity, RAID 1 data mirroring, automatic backup, and support for up to 20 workstations, this server is a smaller version of the 440 model but still features Seagate's easy to use, business class software utilities. Let's take a closer look at the NAS 220 to find out what its made of.

Bundle

Inside the packaging, we find a few essential accessories we need to set up the NAS 220. There is a power supply cord, 6 ft of Ethernet cable, a quick start guide, and software disk. The disk includes Seagate's BlackArmor Discovery, BlackArmor Backup, and user guides. Discovery connects the NAS 220 to your network quickly and easily, while Backup allows users to store files, applications, and operating systems. The user guides found on the disk offer much more information than the quick start guide included in the bundle.
