Data loss is no laughing matter. The negative impacts of this problem can ruin a small business. Some companies spend thousands of dollars recovering lost customer records via legal fees, audits, notification letters, compensation services, and other expenses. In addition, lost productivity costs add up as employee time is diverted from other projects. Then, one must consider the opportunity costs from increased customer turnover due to skepticism and concern stemming from such events. With the possibility of devastating complications always present, small businesses must take steps to prevent data loss in order to survive and keep up with the competition.

Seagate's BlackArmor NAS 440 is a solution that gives small-office/home-office (SOHO) organizations and growing businesses a centralized way to manage critical information safely and easily. It targets those that have little or no IT support and SOHO based individuals who maintain their own hardware. The BlackArmor provides 6TB of storage by way of four SATA hard drives running in a fault tolerant RAID 5 array, two ethernet connections, four USB ports, and supports up to 50 workstations. Read on to find out if the NAS 440 is the right product for your needs.
