CES 2009 Day 2
After a long night of partying with OCZ at their VIP suite, it was tough getting up so early for CES Day 2. But don't worry, we got ourselves out of bed to provide another day of detailed coverage. Today, we ventured into the South Hall for a couple of meetings and then hit the strip to catch up with several major players in the computer industry. Read on as we talk to BFG Tech, Silverstone, Crucial, Antec, and Razer about their new and up coming products for 2009.

BFG Tech

BFG is known for their video cards and, more recently, power supplies.  John showed us the new BFG GTX 295 video card and a few power supplies currently on the market.  But the main attraction was the new gaming system BFG just announced called the Phobos.  This thing is packed with super high end gear and comes with an impressive touch screen LCD interface that lets you configure your system effortlessly.  We appreciate John taking the time to talk to us and hope to have several BFG articles posted throughout the year.  For exclusive video of the Phobos gaming system, hit this link.

Silverstone Technology

Silverstone makes some of the best looking cases on the market.  Tony met with us to show off his new gaming enlosure called the Raven.  This case is the first to come out of Silverstone's new gaming division and is very impressive.  Also on display were SSF, HTPC enclosures, and several power supplies.  Keep checking HardwareLogic's home page for reviews of the latest Silverstone cases throughout 2009.  For video footage of the Raven, click this link.

Crucial

Crucial's booth was located along the main walk way on the convention floor.  It was very easy to find but also a very busy place.  We spoke with Sam who talked about the wide range of storage solutions that Lexar and Crucial had to offer.  This included various memory cards for every camera and phone currently on the market.  Also on display were Crucial's new line of SSDs.  They had a pneumatic device shake an SSD while it was connected to a laptop while playing a movie.  Since there are no moving parts on an SSD, the movie played uninterupted and the drive suffered no damage.  After finding our way to the Ballistix display, it wasn't hard to figure out what was new for 2009.  Smoking hot, tri-channel Ballistix Tracers are due to arrive and give you the option of red, green, or blue activity LEDs with matching PCB.  We can't wait to get these on the test bench and posted on the front page for you guys.  We really appreciate Sam for showing us around and thanks to everyone at the Lexar booth for giving us demos.  Check out the new Tracers in action by clicking on this video link.
