Bgears (formerly known as Bluegears) seeks to be a forerunner of innovative products related with home entertainment and computer systems. Their Taiwan based R & D office and factory in China have been in operation since 2000 with a focus on OEM and ODM markets initially. Bgears USA was established in California in March 2005 and specializes in quality consumer electronics for high-class home entertainment systems.
Seeing as how Bgears is a relatively new company, particularly its United States office, their product lineup is somwhat limited. But the saying "quality, not quantity" comes to mind here. Keeping this in mind, we have a chance to take a closer look at Bgears' only computer case product donned with the name "b-Envi".

Included with the Bgears b-Envi is an interesting assortment of goodies. Firstly, there is a generous baggy of assorted screws, including an extra thumb screw for the side panels. There is also a printed user manual that explains how to use the different functions of the case and get everything installed correctly. These are pretty standard accessory items, but the manual deserves special notice...

Upon opening up the ten page manual, the user is greated with color pictures of the actual case! I know what you're thinking, "this guy needs to get out more if he is excited over a ten page case manual." But the truth is that this is actually a rare find. Seems like only about half the time you will find any computer component that even has real pictures, but those that do are rarely printed in color. The fact that Bgears has taken the time to put together a manual with color pictures speaks highly of their apparent commitment to the end user. It is unlikely that anyone would be able to get through the entire installation process in the b-Envi without ever glancing at the manual so it is comforting to know you will not find cave drawings and broken english sentances.
Moving on down the list of included accessories, we have what looks like a small 24-pin ATX power cable extension, but it is actually a specially customized adapter used to power the front touch panel when the system is shut down (but the PSU is still switched on and getting power). Lastly, there is an interesting USB cable that splits its self in two at the end. This is used in with the removeable 2.5" HDD enclosure to read/write data and power the drive inside. Let's take a closer look at this interesting feature...
