SilverStone TJ10 Case
Met with resounding success in 2006, the SilverStone TJ09 set the bar high for enthusiast class enclosures. Many thought that SilverStone had reached the pinnacle of chassis design that year until the TJ10 was released in early 2007. Architecturally, the TJ10 is based on the TJ09, but SilverStone has seen fit to incorporate a few changes to make this new chassis truly unique. Can the TJ10 leverage on, and surpass the success of its predecessor? Will the TJ10 be able to stand on its own as SilverStones’ newest and biggest flagship enclosure? If there is a single thing that SilverStone can consistently be depended on year after year, it is the fact that they produce some of the most compelling and beautiful enclosures on the market today. Having been in the enclosure manufacturing business since 2003, SilverStone has quickly established itself as one of the premiere chassis and accessory producers in the world. Well known for their exquisite craftsmanship and use of quality materials, SilverStone continues to thrive in a market that is both diverse and finicky.

After unpacking the TJ10, we were ready to see what kind of goodies SilverStone had for us in the accessory bundle. However, our eagerness was short lived as upon opening the cardboard box, it was revealed that SilverStone included only the bare essentials. Motherboard standoffs? Check. Motherboard standoff screws? Check. Hard drive screws and screws for 5.25” devices? Check and check. Cable clips? Nope. Zip ties? Nope. Case fan gender changers and/or converters? Nope. Needless to say, we were pretty surprised at the paltry showing that the accessory bundle gave us.

We understand that in order to keep production costs down, accessory bundles are the first to feel the pinch. However, for a case of this magnitude (remember, this is SilverStone’s flagship enclosure) and this expensive, would it have killed SilverStone to include more than just the bare essentials to get an enthusiast going with this case? Most enthusiasts love the fact that they feel catered to when case manufacturers include the little things that make a bundle really nice. Like zip ties or cable looms, sometimes a miniature screwdriver, or even a breakout motherboard speaker. Suffice to say, the TJ10 accessory bundle left a lot to be desired.
